HELP YOUR CHILD to be the best they can be
We all want our children to do the best they can whilst they are at school.
How you help them to settle in, value their learning, enjoy and be excited about their school days is vital to enabling them to achieve their best.
Here are some helpful ideas that you may find useful.
Reading
Supporting your child’s reading development.
School Library System
we are committed to improving reading and we know the importance of reading for pleasure.
One reason to encourage children to read a wide range of books and material is because there is good evidence to suggest that children who read for pleasure every day perform better in tests.
We have made a significant investment in our library with new storage, books and an on-line versions of our school catalogue. The system allows children and parents to see what books we have. Children are encouraged to use this to support their learning and research, to write reviews about books they have read and search for new books they may not seen.
The on line system has a fantastic feature called ‘ Who Next’ which recommends new books and authors based on the books children have read. You can use this feature at home to help your child select their next book.
You can access the system via the school website or directly using this link

If you would like details of your child’s username and password so that you can use the new app and also track their reading and borrowing pattern please contact school.
We hope you find the facility useful and as always please feel free to let us know your thoughts and ideas for further development.
